MBA Consulting Engineers were involved In the design of a brand new 142,350 sq ft DHL Express Headquarters and parcel sortation hub with integral offices

The project comprised a full fit-out of offices and external service yard areas such as fuel islands and vehicle wash facilities. The scheme was part of DHL’s ‘Go Green’ strategy and has solar PV panels on the roof.

The project was delivered on time and in budget and was fully operational within the programme. The new parcel hub is top of its class with its exceptional efficiency and benefits from diverse power allowing the entire hub to run off back up generators should there be a failure with National Grid.

The state of the art production facility incorporates the latest technology and security options and was built to be efficient and sustainable. The facility boasts photo-voltaic panels, solar water heating, rainwater harvesting and air source heat pumps. CO2 emissions are expected to be 40% lower than Building Regulations demand and the building achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC ‘A’ rating.
