Sprinkler Design Engineer
MBA Consulting Engineers have been present in the building services design industry for almost 40 years. We offer a variety of design services, such as: Mechanical & Electrical, Refrigeration & Insulated Structures, Sustainability & BREEAM, Automated Warehouse Integration, Sprinkler Design & Fire Protection, Utilities & Infrastructure Design & Project Compliance.
We have experienced considerable growth over the last few years and as a result, we are looking for a Sprinkler Design Engineer to join MBA, who will need to be fully conversant in all aspects of sprinkler design associated with Building Engineering Services and the delivery/ installation process.
Key Expectations:
- Provide evidence of previous project experience in sprinkler engineering
- Proven ability and knowledge of systems experience related to large scale leisure, commercial, retail and industrial projects
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of fire sprinkler rules such as FM, NFPA, BS EN 12845, BS5306 Part 2.
- Have knowledge of service, maintenance, repairs and fault finding
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of detailed co-ordination with other design disciplines
- Provide evidence of delivering projects from inception to completion, through your own efforts and that of your team
- Familiarity with site practices, and experience of inspections and surveys
- Possess a good understanding of the commercial factors which affect design solutions
Professional and Technical Expertise Requirements:
- Competent in specification writing, design/drawing for all building types
- Knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation
- Be confident working independently and liaising with clients directly
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - word, excel, etc.
- Must possess good knowledge and a competent ability in the use of their preferred internationally recognised Design Software
- Be conversant with up to date IT, technical methodology and information sources
- Possess a thorough understanding of the relevant and current British and industry Standards
- Possess the ability to prioritise project and team workload/s
- Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines
