Marks & Spencer – East Midlands Distribution Centre

MBA were delighted to be involved in the design and construction of the East Midlands Distribution Centre for Marks and Spencer, consisting of the construction of a new distribution centre for general merchandising supply to retail stores and the eCommerce markets.

The building footprint was sub-divided into three chambers and incorporated multi-tier mezzanines installed in various areas which increased the operational footprint of the facility to 2.4m ft2.

Executed on a shell and fit out basis, MBA were involved from Concept to completion to design and integrate all of the building services requirements were fully integrated, with the The building incorporated conveyors, shuttle systems, shuttle and high bay cranes along with a mini load system.

The building was constructed on a fast track basis by one of the UK’s leading logistics construction specialists.

MBA were responsible for the co-ordination of the building services installations and the interface to the automation equipment.
